New Theme…
I decided that it was time for a change. I found the other theme that I created a bit too dark and boring after having it for a little while… I thought that it could do with a freshen up to be completely honest.
I started out creating this theme for textpattern as I thought that I’d give it a go. Ben over at Openswitch used to rave over it and thought that it was perhaps time that I broadened my horizons and gave it a try… It all went well and I was happy with the outcome of the format of the pages etc, however, the issue that I was having was plugins… They’re not as plain and simple as WordPress ones, well, they don’t seem it to me and after agonising over them nearly all Saturday and a good amount of time today (Sunday) I decided to give it up as a bad job. This afternoon and this evening I decided to re-build the theme but on WordPress making one or two slight modifications. I am much happier with how it has turned out on WordPress in all honesty.
I feel as though it offers more functionality and is just more pleasing on the eye. It also has a slight different spin on it by having the about me section andsearch together at the top, I’ve never done that before but quite like it.
I’ve had one or two slight issues with IE6 and 7, I’ve managed to sort out the majority of the issues, however, one (that I know of) hasn’t been solved, although it isn’t major and most people won’t notice it or if they do be particularly bothered about it.
I hope you all like it and find it better than my previous theme.
